On Monday (September 16), Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched India's first 'Vande Bharat Metro' service in Gujarat, to transform medium-distance travel in the country through modern features and efficiency. The country's first Vande Metro, renamed Namo Bharat Rapid Rail, runs between Bhuj and Ahmedabad. This air-conditioned train is ideal for short-distance travel, providing an affordable premium experience with modern facilities and safety measures. Earlier this week, the Ahmedabad branch of Western Railway successfully tested the Vande Metro. According to Pradeep Sharma, Public Relations Officer of Western Railway (Ahmedabad division), the Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro is a completely air-conditioned train with no reservations. 1. The Bhuj-Ahmedabad Vande Metro train (94802) will leave Bhuj at 5:05 AM and arrive in Ahmedabad around 10:50 AM. It took 5 hours and 45 minutes to complete the journey.
2. The return train, 94801 Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro/Namo Bharat Rapid Rail, departs at 5:30 PM from Ahmedabad and arrives at 11:10 PM, after 5 hours and 40 minutes.
3. The train will stop at Anjar, Gandhidham, Bhachau, Samakhiali, Halvad, Dhrangadhra, Viramgam, Chandlodiya, and Sabarmati stations on its voyage.
4. The train will operate six days a week. Trains 94802 and 94801 will not run on Sundays and Saturdays respectively.
5. Starting September 17, commuters will have access to regular rail service departing from Ahmedabad. The total fee for the journey is Rs 455.

The minimum fare will be Rs 30 (including GST). Season tickets for the Vande Metro are available weekly, fortnightly, and monthly at rates comparable to 7, 15, and 20 single travellers. The chargeable fare will be rounded off to the nearest larger multiple of Rs 5. Normal child fare restrictions will apply.
